Facebook Sync

Just thought I’d move my more popular application into its own page…

Facebook Contacts Sync (v 1.5)

$1.99

Probably the coolest application I’ve written so far! This application uses the FB Connect API for Android (still in it’s early stages, but you can check it out here http://code.google.com/p/fbconnect-android/) to basically “sync” your Contact list with your Facebook Friends!

Furthermore, I also provide recommendations for friends that aren’t found, and for those contacts where no good recommendations could be found I allow the user to manually match them to Facebook friends. But yes, I’m sure these screenshots will help get across what I’m trying to say, so enjoy!

Login Screen

Facebook Connect

Syncing Progress Screen

Tabbed Screen w/ Options

Matched Details w/ Quick Call

Incoming/Outgoing Call Status Messages!

Yup, so download the application for yourself! I think it can be pretty useful, especially for those people with a lot of contacts and who would like to actually have pictures associated with their friends, etc. Also allows you to read up on what your friends are doing every time you either call or get a call from them!

Just installed this and it’s coming up with a blank Facebook connect screen. Using Sony Xperia X10. Are there any dependencies?

There shouldn’t be. I just use the Facebook Connect API – if it’s coming up blank then I would say it’s something on either Facebook’s side, or perhaps something with your phone (some versions of Android have a bug in their WebView rendering that causes things like Facebook Connect to fail)

Well, I’m days (or as I’m with Vodafone, weeks) away from the upgrade to 2.1. If it’s still an issue then I’ll let you know.
